An air purifier with a saturated filter is an expensive fan. The cartridge is a scheduled consumable — here's how to read your model name, the genuine filter for the most-bought machines, and each maker's own replacement interval.
The purifier's model name is on the sticker on its base or back. Match the whole name, suffix included — Levoit's own store lists its Core 400S-P filter as "compatible with only: Core 400S-P" and its Core 200S-P filter for "Core 200S-P only." A family name alone isn't enough.
| Model on your purifier | Genuine filter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Core 300-P · Core 300S-P · Core P350-P | Levoit Core 300-P filter | about 26,000 ratings and 20,000+ bought a month. Levoit lists it for Core 300-P, Core P350-P and Core 300-P-RAC; the genuine listing adds Core 300S-P. Pet homes: Pet Allergy version |
| Core Mini-P | Levoit Core Mini-P filter | about 6,000 ratings; 10,000+ bought a month |
| Core 200S-P | Levoit Core 200S-P filter | about 7,500 ratings; Levoit: "Core 200S-P only" |
| Core 400S-P | Levoit Core 400S-P filter | about 3,800 ratings; Levoit: "compatible with only: Core 400S-P" |
| Core 600S-P | Levoit Core 600S-P Pet Allergy filter | the genuine pet-allergy version; its listing says 6–12 months |
| Vital 100 | Levoit Vital 100 filter | about 11,700 ratings |
| Vital 200S-P | Levoit Vital 200S-P filter | its listing says 6–12 months |
| LV-H132 | Levoit LV-H132 filter | about 20,000 ratings; its listing says every 6 months |
Older Core 300 or Core 300S without the -P? Levoit's store now sells only the -P filters, while compatible sellers list one Core 300-RF-style filter for both generations. If you go that route, buy a listing that names your exact model.
| Model on your purifier | Genuine filter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Coway Airmega AP-1512HH · Airmega 200M | Coway AP-1512HH filter set | about 8,300 ratings; a one-year pack — HEPA about 12 months, two carbon pre-filters about 6 months each |
| Winix 5500-2 | Winix Filter H (116130) | about 5,900 ratings |
| Winix C535 · 5300-2 · 6300-2 · P300 | Winix Filter A (115115) | about 8,700 ratings; Winix: HEPA every 12 months, carbon every 3 months |
| Winix C545 | Winix Filter S (1712-0096-00) | Winix-brand listing; well-reviewed compatible: C545 Filter S replacement |
Other machine? The pattern is universal: full model name → the filter code printed on the old cartridge → a listing that names both. When a listing says "fits most," keep scrolling.
It matches the purifier's model name. Levoit sells its current filters under names ending in -P (Core 300-P, Core 200S-P, Core 400S-P) and lists each one as compatible only with the purifiers carrying those names — so read the full name on your purifier's sticker.
No — vacuuming the surface buys a little airflow but the depth of the media is already loaded, and washing destroys true HEPA. The washable part is the pre-filter; the cartridge is the consumable.
For mainstream units, reputable compatibles with strong review histories can be a real saving. Genuine matters most where fit is finicky or the purifier tracks filter life — Levoit's listings say its filter-life indicator only works with authentic filters. Either way, buy from a listing that names your exact model.
Run-in odor from new carbon fades in a day or two. Persistent smell usually means the pre-filter or the machine's interior needs cleaning, not another new cartridge.
