Kenmore refrigerators have been built by several different manufacturers, so Kenmore filter numbers don't follow one system — some are now sold under another brand's name, some carry LG part numbers, and a few are gone for good. Here's what each common number turns into.
For these numbers, Sears PartsDirect lists a replacement part from the brand that made the fridge — so the genuine route is that brand's filter:
| Kenmore number | Sears lists the replacement as | Genuine replacement |
|---|---|---|
| 9084 | EDR4RXD1 — everydrop Filter 4 | everydrop Filter 4 — about 41,000 ratings; twist-in |
| 9085 | EDR5RXD1 — everydrop Filter 5 | everydrop Filter 5 — twist-in |
| 9999 | ULTRAWF — Frigidaire PureSource Ultra | Frigidaire ULTRAWF — about 46,000 ratings; pushes in until it clicks |
| 9915 | EDR6D1 — everydrop Filter 6 | everydrop EDR6D1 listings — confirm the code on the listing |
| 9913 | WFCB | WFCB listings — confirm the code on the listing |
Sears adds that substitute parts can look different from the original — expected when the replacement comes from another brand's line. The everydrop decoder explains the Filter 4 and 5 cartridges.
Sears PartsDirect lists these Kenmore filters under LG-style part numbers. If a listing names both your Kenmore number and one of these part numbers, you're looking at the right cartridge:
| Kenmore number | Part numbers Sears lists | Shop |
|---|---|---|
| 9690 | AGF80300801; equivalent ADQ36006102, ADQ36006106, ADQ36006114 — Kenmore and Kenmore Elite bottom-freezer models | 9690 listings |
| 9490 | ADQ73613402 — Kenmore side-by-side and bottom-freezer models | 9490 listings |
| 9980 | AGF80300805; replaces ADQ74793502 | 9980 listings |
| 9890 (Kenmore Elite) | ADQ72910902 — Sears says it's permanently sold out with no manufacturer substitute | 9890 listings (compatible only) |
Many LG-built Kenmore filters look like the LG cartridges on our LG decoder, but a lookalike isn't proof — go by the part numbers above.

When Sears names a successor from another brand (9084, 9085, 9999), that filter is the genuine route — and it's the easiest one to buy. For numbers still sold as Kenmore, the genuine cartridge comes from Sears PartsDirect; the Amazon listings that name those numbers are mostly compatible filters. If you go compatible, pick a listing that prints your exact Kenmore number and shows a real certification mark — the same rule as our fridge filter guide. A filter that doesn't seat fully is how leaks start.
Every 6 months — Kenmore says so on its own filter listing, and Sears adds "or after 200 gallons" for the 9081. Write the date on the new cartridge and reset the fridge's filter light if it has one. The whole-home filter schedule lines this up with your furnace, pitcher and humidifier filters.
Sears PartsDirect lists Frigidaire's ULTRAWF (PureSource Ultra) as the replacement for 9999.
everydrop Filter 4, code EDR4RXD1 — and 9085 is replaced by everydrop Filter 5 (EDR5RXD1).
Sears lists 9690 under part number AGF80300801, with equivalents ADQ36006102, ADQ36006106 and ADQ36006114 — LG-style part numbers. Buy a listing that names 9690 and one of those numbers.
